Several Years ago I was like most young Americans. I was healthy, I was active and I was invincible, or so I thought. I was working hard training and exercising horses, long and hard physical days with not much rest and relaxation in between. I had been a horse lover, professional equestrian for almost 30 years. I had competed all over the US in Dressage, Eventing, a little rodeo, and my last stop on the Thoroughbred racetrack. Although I had my fair shares of accidents, broken bones, and torn muscles, health insurance was not on my priority to purchase. I was careful, educated, flexible, and I trusted my horses. 

Until I was thrown and suffered a broken tibia, fibula, kneecap, and a severely torn ACL, along with severe tendon damage and strained lower back. I needed surgery! I had no insurance!

And as the medical bills started to pile up so did the stress and anxiety of not only being out of work but paying for care. 

I was lucky, I had close friends in the insurance industry that opened my eyes and helped guide me through the incredible mess I was in. It was also when I started my mission to educate people on the abuse, price gauging, and as one of my clients called it "legal legitimate theft"

And so Saddle Up Health Plans was born.

I became an independent licensed agent and began the next chapter in my life, spreading the word and helping folks obtain affordable, customizable, health plans. Coaching people on how to find, use, and shop for medical procedures. Health insurance is not a one size fits all, and never should be!

Does a single man need maternity coverage? No, so why should he pay for that coverage?

Should a non-smoker whom only sees a doctor 1 time a year need to pay hundreds of dollars a month for a preventative check up, that costs $75?

Shouldn't your health plan allow for doctors visits, outpatient surgery benefits, prescriptions, Urgent Care, preventative, X-Rays and Labs with-out having to meet a deductible first? YES!
